So this is actually my first post and the reason i joined this forum, its because my router (DIR-300) is somehow slowing alot my uTorrent downloads(it shows on the bottom bar of the progam the message: "No incoming connections")

I have already portfowarded the port i'm using for the progam at the router interface and i cant see whats going on since it didn't work, i dont know very much about routers so i would appreciate any help you guys could provide

sorry about me not knowing much about those things, all i know about uTorrent is download the torrent and open it from the progam but where can i see that? ^^

What port number are you using? Try higher port number, say over 10000.

I changed the port from 6999 to 41730 and it didn't help, the client is still saying that there are no incoming connections

Sounds to me like a simple finger problem (ie incorrect port forwarding or similar) as I have seen these routers run torrents with quite modest connection numbers with no issues.

Some things that come to mind:

- Is the port forward in the router the same port uTorrent is using for incoming connections?
- Are you running a firewall on your PC (Windows Firewall or any other) blocking those connections?
- Is the IP address on your router correctly pointing to the IP address on your PC (best if you are using static IP)?

Yes, the port that the uTorrent is using is the same in the router I also added uTorrent as a firewall exception and the ports that i'm using, so i can say taht the firewall isnt blocking uTorrent, but the ip that you are talking about wich the router is pointing is my computer ip in the router (169.168.0.X)?
If its not, how can i point it correctly?

What about the Windows Firewall or any other security software you have installed on your PC, have you checked those?

Also try adding the torrent for the latest Ubuntu release as as a test and see if that works, it might be the file/tracker you are trying to use.

i would say as u have a dlink u need to put utorrent into your modem this is simple to do so if your still having trouble let me know & i'll go through it for you

I have checked the firewall again and made sure that uTorrent was in the exception list, also i don't think that the tracker is the problem since i have several torrents downloading, but the download speed is pretty slow
I think the problem is the IP, and i dont know how to set an static Ip adress in my computer

You need to gain access to your modem if you go to the dlink website you should be able to get the info . i had a dlink 502 & it kept dropping utorrent everytime i turned comp off so had to reneter the data . If i didnt i was not port forwarding

Hi there,

If I missed this bit of info.. apologies :-)

Have you done the port forward test that utorrent enables you to use? Its a simple test that can help answer a few questions. Go into utorrent > options > speed guide, you will see a button called "Test if port is forwarded properly".

I would also recommend trying different torrents, ones with a lot of seeds. Even things like the blizzard downloader which uses torrent technology to deliver game updates/trailers etc.
