I am moving back to NZ from Australia and will be working from home over the internet.

My employer is an Australian company and I will be making frequent calls within Australia, so I have a DID service through FaktorTel.

I will be using a dedicated SIP phone (Lynksis SPA942).

What is the best router to use with this? All I know is that SIP-ALG should be disabled.

I am using a Linksys WRT54GL with DD-WRT and it's fine - two VoIP lines here.

Maybe one who can manage QoS for best performance. I like tu use Mikrotik RouterOS with some queues for better quality in some resources (http, https, VoIP...).

I ordered the SIP phone (Linksys SPA942) because FaktorTel said I should test it before I leave Australia.

I assembled the phone, plugged it into my existing router (DG834G v3, Firmware V4.01.40) and it worked OK, therefore do I need to change the router?

Does the brand of router affect the QOS?
