I´ve red all the information available, I also tryed to install the drivers again, but I can get WINDOWS XP to detect my hardware.

Does anyone knows how to get WINDOWS to detect my internal bluetooth device after a reinstallation of windows XP ?

I have a new ACER ASPIRE 5000 with a former working bluetooth device.

PLease HELP US GOD !

Wlecome to Geekzone... With the old Bluetooth device, did you use the native Windows drivers or the manufacturer's drivers?

If you have used the manufacturer's drivers then you have to uninstall these before you can plug a new Bluetooth adapter. Make sure you reboot between uninstall/reinstall/plug device.

Thanks for the fast response.

Here is what I did.

I purchased the new ACER ASPIRE 5000 with the integrated bluetooth device working. I did not liked the FACTORY DEFAUL Hard Drive configuration and I formated the LAPTOP.

I installed XP PROFESIONAL ( NOT THE ORIGINAL XP HOME EDITION ) and I used the drivers that came with my LAPTOP.

Everything worked fine, HD, VIDEO, AUDIO, etc, etc.... but the BLUETOOTH DEVICE.

I tried to install from the original drivers and a little Window POPS UP saying " NO DEVICE DETECTED"

It worked fine before, everything works fine, but this BLUETOOTH DEVICE. ....

I do not know how to force windows to detect the embeded device.

And in the drivers CD, is there one for the Bluetooth device itself? I don't think the Windows XP SP2 native drivers work with built-in adapters, only with USB ones.

YEAP ! When I start the Drivers CD there is a BLUETOOT DRIVER INSTALL feature, I run this process and that is when I get te " NO DEVICE DETECTED" error, then I says No driver will be installed until you get a device.

The hardware is installed, but it can not be detected. !"$·!"$·!"$··$%&%&$ WXP !!!

I tried the Device Manager, ADD A NEW HARDWARE, the systems just cant find it.

mmmm ! I give up ! I called ACER support ! !·$!$%%&·$&·$%& NO GOOD ANSWER !

I am having the same problem!
I bought an Aspire 3000 with built in bluetooth device. The bluetooth device appeared to work although I didn't have anything to test it with. The light on the button went on and off so it appeared to work.
I upgraded to Windows XP Pro. The light on the button does not come on now. I installed the Bluetooth driver from the CD. It didn't work. I installed the driver from the Acer web site. Same thing. A pop-up window says "No Bluetooth Device detected".
I have written to Acer tech support and if I ever get an answer I will post it for you. In the meantime, I would appreciate any suggestions. I will continue to try and figure it out and if I come up with a solution I will let you know.

I know this is no help, but I am interested if you could post here when Acer responds to you.

I am (not) surprised that there are still computer manufacturers that won't reply to questions from consumers once the PC is out of the store.

Well, Acer is insisting that they do not ship the Aspire 3000 laptops with Bluetooth in the US or Canada. How interesting that they are being advertised as having Bluetooth. Since I wrote to Tigerdirect.com, they have changed their listing but they are still advertising other Acer Models as having bluetooth built in. Obviously, someone is not telling the truth. Since I paid for bluetooth I intend to have it, one way or the other. Anyone want to start a class action?

I had the impression you had this working in first place, before changing the configuration? I know a few manufacturers say "Bluetooth ready" meaning that there is no Bluetooth device, but the software is pre-installed.

Toshiba does it, and I bought a Tablet PC M205 from BestBuy in Seattle a couple of years ago, but I knew it was "ready" not "with" Bluetooth...

I did not have a bluetooth device available to test it until after I had updated Windows. The button on the front which is supposed to enable and disable the interface toggled on and off when pressed. I assumed, possibly incorrectly, that this indicated that it was installed and working. Now the light does not come on and and the is a message "No Device" which never showed up before.

Hi,

Maybe bit late, but found this while searching for a similar problem I was having.

Seems it is a fault with Windows.. not Laptop, namely Service pack 2 - which would suggest why people started having the problem all of a sudden (ie when they upgraded)

But renamed the file it mentioned and its now working perfectly.
