I have installed XP Pro & SP2 (Full install inc Re-Format of HD) on my Acer travelmate 4650 since I did this my built in Bluetooth doesn’t work.

I have been to Acer to download the drivers, which don’t work (I get a msg saying Bluetooth device not found)

When I go to device manager and look under ports I have 8 listings for Bluetooth Communications port

COM10, COM11, COM12, COM13, COM14, COM4, COM5, COM9

How do I get my machine to even recognize I have a built in Bluetooth and does anyone have or know where to get the drivers to run it?

Have you used the built-in Bluetooth before the OS change? Some laptops are "Bluetooth ready" meaning that software is pre-installed but the hardware is not there (you have to purchase it separately).

If it worked before, then I you could try installing the Acer drivers again, checking if the Bluetooth hardware is loaded with the Windows XP SP2 Bluetooth stack and then manually changing drivers. Or even removing it from the device list before installing the Acer drivers again.

If these option don't work, then you will have to contact Acer or apply the original image on the laptop.
