Hi -

I am having problems getting a Belkin USB Bluetooth adapter F8T013 to work on my laptop.

I want to use it to connect to my mobile phone - I get limited success using the Belkin software but the PCSuite software supplied with my Nokia does not recognise the Belkin Bluetooth drivers and software...

The message "Cannot use the connection type. CHeck that all needed hardware, software and drivers are available" is displayed in PC suite..

I have installed the Widcomm drivers as Nokia says it supports these.

However - Widcomm says it does not have a license for the Belkin device.

Any idea how I can fix this?

Okay - I've fixed it for those who may be interested - actually the following is a reply from Belkin.

First open my bluetooth places.
Then click view devices in range.
Then right click the icon for your bluetooth device (after it finishes scanning you should see all the devices close by).

Select "pair device".
Give pairing code, any four digits will do.
Then you get a red tick on the icon, it means these devices are now paired.
Next right click the icon again and select disocover available services.
Now you should see Virtual Serial Connection. Double click this to open COM port, it will also tell you what is the COM port number for your connection. Now configure the Nokia software to use the same COM port and that should work.

In fact the fix wasnt exactly as shown as the 'Virtual Serial Connection' wasn't listed although a DUN connection was. Having selected this and established the DUN (If the dial up menu appears just press cancel) it all worked. There was no need to configure the COM Port.

Good luck to those who find this particular resolution works for them - clearly from the number of similar posts on the subject this is not an unfamiliar problem.
