Hello everyone.

I have been using the IP150 module with my paradox alarm for just over a year without any issues.

Paradox have discontinued the paradoxmyhome DDNS service and are forcing one to upgrade device firmware and pay subs

Is there any other way to access / make use of this module remotely without the above?

Thanks for the quick reply.

I have not and I am very reluctant to do so.

Currently FW 3xx

Paradox is now forcing us to use their Gold Insight with SWAN servers and paying a year subscription - which in the USA, isnt a bad price, converted to what I must pay - is very pricey.

I am looking at alternatives

Ahh you might be out of luck, i cant quite remember but i think they jumped from 1.39 to 3.xx and thats when you would have lost the email notifications and stuff like that.

log in and check just in case its still there, But i do know that Ver 4.1 through to 4.3 does not have the email config any more.

The other alternative could be HASS, as someone has created the module/code to integrate the ip150 to HASS

My greatest issue is accessing the IP150 remotely using the app. I can no longer arm/disarm/etc remotely  :(

I dont use the app any more, I used if for a bout a week and found that it was a sack of crap so I now just VPN in and remotely manage it using baby ware and that works fine, I also login to the module it self and arm and disarm the alarm and operate the I/O from the web interface

I manage mine (alerts etc) via openHAB/MQTT. It does allow for basic control (arm/disarm) and status of zones.

It can be exposed via HomeKit as soon as it’s in openHAB (or home assistant).

Possibly a little over the top if you’re not heading down a home automation path.

Does that incorporate the IP150 module?

It’s a python service that talks to it. There’s another one also. They talk to the ip150 module and expose some of the zones and control for use in home automation.

Yeah I figured as much. There was a guy that started writing another app that talks to a paradox, alarming I think. Poss Android.

https://github.com/Tertiush/Alarmin-Android-App

This was the same guy that started the python service. So that might be an option. It should do local control. I don’t know if it’s been kept up to date.

I’d be really keen for more info, I’ve got a openHAB setup and I’m controlling a few things and it would be pretty cool to get my alarm linked up too

For spectra modules it’s fairly well covered. As I have one.

There’s another service that might be good also, that has some cool feature, including exposing an interface that other apps can connect to.

https://github.com/jpbarraca/pai

The latter is being actively developed. The former I’ve contributed a lot too, and it mostly does everything I need, so it’s stable from my point of view.

I should blog how it’s setup.
