So basically all of a sudden my iPhone notifications bar won't pull down anymore. I try to pull it down but it does absolutely nothing and I can't check the notifications

However if I have just gotten a message and it is showing the bar up the top I can swipe that down and the notifications bar will show.

Also if i put the phone in landscape mode I can pull the bar down but I cannot click X then Clear to get rid of any of the notifications when I do this?

I have trawled the internet for agesssss and haven't found anything, got the screen replaced as I thought it might have a faulty LCD and nothing!! Have hard reset as well and and even restored my iPhone to a previous backup but nothing

Please help :)

Send it to Apple to get it fixed

The phone is about 18 months old and I don't think it will be covered under warranty anymore. That means I'll probably get charged a stupid amount of money for them to fix it :(

Is there anything else I can do or just this?

Did you pay full price for this iPhone? That would've been over 1k surely. I think that should be covered by the CGA still as it clearly didn't last a reasonable amount of time and is no longer fit for purpose. Try your luck you never know

Do a local backup and restore the phone. Or wait a couple of days and upgrade it to iOS6 when it is released.

It was bought outright from an EQC claim but I paid cash for it and was reimbursed the $1100 I think I paid for it. However the screen was cracked and a friend replaced it for me? Does that mean that any warranty or CGA would be void? Also is there a date for iOS 6 to be released?

Yes unauthorized repairs mean your warranty is void as is any hope of help from apple - are you sure that the problem isn't with the replacement digitizer? I've seen plenty of iPhones buggered by friends 'fixing' them.

Is it Jailbroken? Any recent apps installed prior to the issue?

As the Notifications work, but not in portrait, I would try resetting the phone, and setup as a new phone. As a test. That would indicate if it was ok that the issue is an app. You can then restore to the working backup and delete the most recent apps.

Can you try tap the same location (where you drag down your notifications) on the screen when you're halfway scrolled down a page? If it does not register and bring you back to the top of the page, then it is probably the digitizer. If it works, then it may be a software error. Restore to the latest iOS without backups and see if it works then
