Hi all,

I currently have an iPhone 8 Plus which I purchased two years ago. The phone works great still and battery life is at 84%. Would you upgrade to the iPhone 11 or wait another year? The only reason I’m thinking about it is that currently, I can sell my iPhone 8 Plus for approximately $650. It’ll obviously be worth a lot less in another years time! So is it worth it or should I just save my money?

Thanks all!

If the same happens in a years time the 11 will be $200 less new and there will be a queue of 11 owners in a rush to sell their 11to get a 12. i got an xr for $790 mint condition
So unless you want a modern form factor hang on a year.

get your battery replaced?

I'm about to do that for my X and skip this mediocre upgrade cycle.

I have an 8 Plus and I also plan to get my battery replaced to keep it going for another year.

The iPhone 11 screen, while technically bigger, is actually less useful when you consider its aspect ratio. Yes, I could go up to the Pro Max but there is absolutely no way I'd be willing to spend that kind of money.

The iPhone 8 Plus works perfectly fine, and this year's iPhone announcement was yet another offering of more useless features and no improvement in product quality.

It's the main thing that has me moving from my Note 10+, if it didn't have it I wouldn't be switching.

iPhone 8 has the same CPU as iPhone X, unless Cameras are your thing I'd suggest waiting.

The rumour-mill sites/youtube chans are already giving the 2020 iphone a mention, so far talking about 5G and no notch.

I would hold off for the 12, as mentioned 5G in the next model as well as different for factor perhaps ??.

IMO the upgrade just for the camera is not worth it.

And by the time the 12 rolls around, the 13 will be just around the corner so why not just wait for that?  ...and then the 14, and so on, and so on, and so on.  You will never win with the speed of technology advancements. The second you open the box something better is right around the corner.  If your 8 does everything you want then keep it.  As soon as it's no longer fit for purpose upgrade.  Just my 2 cents.
