The next Meetup of the Auckland Game Developers Meetup is a special iPhone meetup. 

We have the launch of a local iPhone game, an under-development 3D engine for iPhone and a Producer from Gameloft, the world's largest mobile game studio, speaking.

It's at 6pm, Wed 1 Sept, at the Media Design School on Queen St, Auckland.

Space Hawk 
Ryan Thatcher from Star Kiwi will talk about the development of their new arcade action iPhone game, Space Hawk. He'll discuss the game's AI, the challenge of simulating a joystick on a touchscreen and the modular damage system.

Optimising iPhone and Android 3D Graphics 
Danushka Abeysuriya is the chief nerd for Rush Digital Interactive, a 3D game engine developer for the smartphone space who is leading the development of their proprietary game engine.

Trevor Gamon, Gameloft 
Trevor is Production Manager at Gameloft's new Auckland studio. Trevor will talk about his experiences in the games industry including projects at Mindscape(UK), Climax Studios(UK), Blue Tongue (Melbourne) and his involvement in establishing Gameloft in New Zealand.

Sounds great, I'd come but I'll be somewhere over the Pacific coming back from the US at that time.

Will there be more meetups in the future? Is this an annual thing?
