Before heading on a holiday to Thailand, I investigated buying and iPhone over there. I was cautioned... as it is just easier to buy an iPhone in NZ, as they are not "locked" to any network.

Being stubborn, I ignored this advice, as I found a place that can network unlock iPhones for NZ (Dr Mobiles in Takapuna).
I bought one, was so excited... and came home to find out that I had bought the newest version (iPhone 4.03) which they haven't been able to network unlock yet, due to security restrictions on the phone. They can only do up to 4.02 apparently.

I have no more information on when I will be able to get my phone unlocked from AT&T network, is there anyone that can help me? Even just to give me an indication on when I can get it unlocked.

So gutted that I can't play with my new toy!

...
You should've just bought one here.

You'll just have to wait till there's an unlock for 4.03+. Don't update iOS until you get an unlock for 4.03, which may or maynot work with newer versions of iOS.

*sigh*
I know... but how can you resist $500NZ for an iPhone 4?!?! But I guess now i have to live with the consequence, not being able to use it for who knows how long!

Thanks :)

I would have thought the fact that you can't use it would be one reason to resist even if it was $100, ah well lesson learned I guess. Good luck in your quest to unlock the thing
