hello all,
Reviving an old external backup drive but i am unable to find a power adapter for it.
The power pack has a four pin arrangement sort of like an old-school DIN plug - specs for the internal pins are 12v +- & 5v +-.
The external drive casing fits 2 x 3.5 sata drives so the current requirements are @ 4Amps.
Happy to pay for the unit & shipping.

Hey, have you listed a price, location and how much shipping would be to other parts of New Zealand? I have one - not quite sure where it is from but you're welcome to grab it. I am based in Wellington. I don't have a multimeter to test if it outputs +5v too. Alternatively you can grab an external HDD caddy and just shove the drive in that.

Pinouts on those plugs are not standardized so tripple check it with a meter before plugging it in.

According to the label that one is only 12V out.

OP - if you know how to solder, easiest way would be to cut up one of those Molex to SATA hard drive power adaptors. And use it to make your own custom adaptor. And then run it off a desktop computer power supply.
