Anyone got a spare Linksys WRT54GL for a hobby project? Yes, that's the one with custom firmware. I'm open to all offers. Please contact me via email. Thanks.
I had a really hard time locating the GL (for "Linux") model locally, but due to legislative restrictions, that was a no-go.
At last I had to settle for a WRT54G from DickSmith's. Problem was that DD & open-WRT wouldn't work on the v4 hardware I initailly got (yea, I know; RTFM b4 u buy), and had to take it back to exchange for a v5 hardware unit. Keep in mind that you dont need a Linkksys WRT54G unit to load dd-WRT or open-WRT. Benkin & many other Broadcom-based units work too. Check out the hw requirements before you buy
Please check the firmware requirements & EXACT hardware speck before you buy! (don't trust the salesmen. they usually don't know or don't care what they're talking about)
WRT54GL's are commonplace -- I myself have two personally. As mentioned earlier, check out Pricespy. I got both of mine (on seperate days) from PB Tech.
