I am going to Europe and am looking at buying a GPS. I own an HP RX1950 with Windows Mobile 5.1 with a Samsung SC32442 with  32MB RAMand 64MB ROM - is it possible to get software to allow it to be used as  a GPS?  I would be buying an SD card with Europe maps.thanks
Jeff

There are lots of software for this - the best ones are TomTom and CoPilot live. Both have European maps and you can use from the SD cards. You will need a GPS unit so that your Pocket PC, which I presume has Bluetooth to connect to the GPS?

Hi there,

I've just purchased my first PDA, an iPaq 112 Classic. I'd like to be able to use it as a GPS unit as well, both in my car and on foot (although not regularly enough to warrant a large investment)

I have a couple of questions.

1) Which receiver would be best for my needs?

2) Which software would be the most appropriate? The PDA runs WM6

I'm a bit new to this PDA business, so any guidance would be greatly appreciated :)

Cheers,
Chris

It would be better to start a new discussion - so I will answer here but if you need further clarification please open another thread.

If your PDA is Bluetooth-enabled any Bluetooth GPS would work fine. Holux makes some good ones, as well as Globalsat.

As for software, if you are in Australia, Tom Tom and CoPilot 7 both have Windows Mobile versions with Australian maps.

I just brought a Holux M-1200.

After a day of use I highly recommend it. Very small, top build quality, very very fast acquisition time, easy bluetooth pairing, AWESOME!
