Has something changed? Is it just me?

Normally the voicemail button on my 4S calls 2degrees voicemail (202) but today when I went to check a missed call I pressed the Voicemail button and got the iPhone Visual Voicemail screen instead.

See here for a picture of what the Visual Voicemail screen looks like:

Although a message had been left there was no message in the Visual Voicemail message list and no message count on the voiicemail icon.

I had to manually dial 202 to retrieve the message.

Maybe I've done something in the settings to display this screen... if so I don't know how to get rid of it.

I re-keyed *5005*86*+64222022002# to reset the voicemail setting but that didn't fix it.

Is 2degrees toying with Visual Voicemail? Any ideas?

Cheers

Tim

We don't support Visual Voicemail as a service. If you're able to get through by dialing 202 and getting our Voicemail then it should be working ok and may need a call to Apple to resolve.

looking at your link it has 'cingluar' in the network field, does Voicemail work ok when you have 2degrees signal showing?

I think that link is just a generic sample :)  It is from a news site.

I doubt it. Visual Voicemail requires custom settings in the iPhone carrier bundle before it'll work. 2degrees don't (appear) to have a relationship with Apple which is why you currently need to manually enter all of the APN settings in iOS before data will work.

Fixed!

I posted on the new Facebook 2degrees Community forum and received the following answer

At a stretch you could see if this suggestion helps you or not - I can't guarantee it but it seemed to work for one person and will not do any damage if it doesn't work. However be aware that following the steps below WILL reset all your "settings". That includes WiFi connections and passwords etc. You will just have to change all your settings back after this step so perhaps only do it as a last resort as it might be a pain for you.

===
First go to Settings - General - Network - now turn off celllular data (which is all I could do in AT&T) or delete the visual voice mail settings if you are able to.

Go back and look at your voice mail it should now give you some sort of nasty message about how Visual Voice Mail does not work without a cellular data connection.

Now you can go and do:

*5005*86*+64222022002#
Hit Home Button
Hit Settings
Hit General
Hit Reset All Settings <<<< leaves most data on phone but backup just in case

When it is done I found the visual voice mail was killed.

I then went back and turned on cellular data and when I went to voice mail visual voice mail was still off.

Oh well, I've had 3 iPhones on 2degrees. You're lucky your button did anything. Have you tried dialing 200?
