My mother in law has recently moved to Mission Bay. We all thought that this would be a good time for her to move up to Broadband as sehe was probably the second to last person on the planet still on dialup... Anyway, she has the Orcon Genius and hass been sent a mesage saying that it is all ready to go.
However, once it is set up and plugged in there doesn't seem to be any internet connection or phone. The modem turns on, all of the lights are on initially, after a few seconds, the only one that remains going is the ADSL light, the rest are all off. The phone gives an engaged signal when she picks up.
So far she has used up all of her credit on her mobile waiting on hold with Orcon and I have spent an hour on the phone from Adelaide to try and help her out. everything has been plugged in correctly.
Not sure where to go from here...

Call Orcon on the 0800 number from a mobile and it should be free

Sounds like authentication is failing at Orcons end... how did she receive a message to say it was ready ?
Wonder if someone jumped the gun in saying it was ready....

She received an SMS saying it was all good to go... I wondered that as well. With any luck it will be sorted this week...

The first problem was she had the sky decoder still plugged in to the phone jack as well which we sorted fairly easily. I hoped that would be the solution but alas it wasn't enough.

Taking a guess, but Id say the account was ready, but the line wasnt... but give the helpdesk a call on the 0800 and they should be able to check pretty quick if the line is ready.
