Hi

I have an Ideos U8150 on 2degrees that I am having issues with (or maybe IT'S having issues with me?!)

No matter what I do I cannot seem to get it to connect to the internet (mobile network or via WI-FI to my home internet) and I'm having problems downloading apps from Google Market/Play.

I have tried changing the internet settings (as per settings on Geekzone) but still the mobile network state = disconnected. (I'm assuming this is some/all of the issue?)

Any help would be much appreciated, I just want to use my phone! *crys like baby* Wink

I have had the same problem with 2degrees it would not send me the settings and even if I input them manually it did not work. I am using vodafone settings on 2degrees and it has been working fine if you want to try it here is the settings.
Cellular Line (GPRS)

www.vodafone.net.nz

Cellular Line (GPRS)

Live.vodafone.com

Still seems to be the same rates and never have gotten any bills from vodafone but they are running on the same network anyway.
As far as your wifi working are you picking up any signal from your phone when you search for wifi signal?  Also which browser are you using?Cheers

Sorry above settings one is for internet (bottom one I think) and the other for mms

Yank not the best advice sorry, 2Degrees do not use the same network as Vodafone, 2Degrees customers roam onto the Vodafone NZ network with out of 2Degrees coverage

Do you have enough balance in your account?

Do you have a mobile broadband package?

Have you tested the SIM card in another device to see if mobile data works then?

Well do not understand why it works and there own settings do not. Also if it is not allowed why have they never let me know? I would be interested in settings for 2degrees that actually work.

Never advised you are not allowed to use them, No carrier bills for mobile data just off APNs used,

You're not 'piggybacking off Vodafone'. Our SGSN silently translates Vodafone's APN names to our own. However, if you happen to be roaming (even on Vodafone), then you're not ON our SGSN, and those settings won't work. So it's best if you just use the right ones. :-)

You are kidding that you couldn't find these settings?

Anyway, the OP has more issues if they can't access wifi.

Thanks for everyone's replies .

It would appear that I have solved the 'Mobile Network status = disconnected' issue by topping up (or maybe I just have better signal at work than at home? Though I used to be able to connect at home as well....) I still have an issue connecting to the internet though. Get messages such as 'Unable to connect to server' and my Facebook  won't log in *gasp! horror!* Message reads 'An error has occured during sign in, please try again later'.

Funny that I get the SMS from 2degrees regarding my top up but I'm STILL not getting the message setting messages! (Tried again about 15 mins ago).

It's quite possible that all these issues are cause by the user being technologically challenged, but I'd like to think not! LOL

You always need a balance to connect to the Internet, not only the pack.

If you are getting an error message when trying to login to Facebook then I understand you can see other pages, etc? In this case it's not a network problem.

If you are connecting now you don't need the settings to be sent anymore.

Hmmm...ok so I'm still having issues connecting via wi-fi. Wi-fi is connected and signal strength = excellent however when I try to load FB/Google Play/Google the connection times out/says there is no internet connection....my partner (who has no credit and is on 2degrees as well) can connect to our wi-fi on his phone no issues. Any suggestions?
