so frustrating.

Recently orcon released their unlimited plan, so i was pretty excited to jump on and change my plan to unlimited, from the 200gig. Orcon monthly cycles start on the 23rd of each month, and I called a couple of days before in Dec 2012. I was told the internet plan has been setup and I will be on the unlimited starting the 23rd of Dec 2012. However, i just received a bill to show that I had incurred an extra $74 worth of data on that month. After calling them, they informed me that my unlimited did not actually start until the 24th, and I had used up some extra 30gig worth of data on the 23rd, and thus they had to charge me that fee. Apparently, they sent me an email on the 19th December to inform me this, but I cannot find it in my inbox, my trash, or my spam folder.

i mean who in their right mind would go out and order an unlimited broadband, and not to wait a day if knew before that the plan kicked in a day late. the person on the phone was not too helpful, and cant seem to realise that this situation seems rather unfair.

i guess now, i just have to wait patiently for 11 more months for this contract to finish so i can have other options. just seems i have not had the best of help from orcon recently. just wish there was an ISP who would treat customers fairly in NZ.

Try asking them to review the sales call. If the rep advised that the change over would happen on the 23rd (which is different to your billing cycle ending on the 23rd) then I'm sure Orcon will be happy to discuss alternative options.
