Flip 'connected' me on the 15 Feb.  I then had no internet and I could not receive phone calls. I rang the service centre but was basically told it was a fault from my end.  Worked perfectly till I switched.  A technician was sent out who confirmed there was no fault at my end. Rang service centre again (25-30 minutes each time) but received no help. I gave up in disgust and rang my previous provider.  Had to wait till phone could be reconnected which meant I was without a working phone for 10 days.  Anyone who rang me got told my phone was disconnected.  Flip gets the thumbs down from me.

Ask them to do a distance to open test on their equipment, guess it's a bad jumper at the exchange.

A few things,

1) Did you configure the modem with the provided xDSL user/pass that Flip sent you correctly?
2) Did you try another modem?
3) Do you have a master splitter installed (before anyone makes that comment)

If yes to all the above then it might well be a bad jump at the exchange, happens every now and then.

Miss-jumpers or failed installs are a bugger when they happen.

Usually all you have to do to verify it is not an issue on your end is make sure your modem and phone are not faulty by testing it else-where or trying another phone/modem on all JPs. I if you had active services before, a house wiring issue during the switch would have been seriously unlikely.

A failed install can be fixed in a matter of 24 hours. Technician usually goes out of his way to make sure its fixed the second time around too.

Happened to me with my ISP. I had DSL but no PPP. Turns out my primary line had been turned in to my secondary and my secondary was configured as my primary line. The tech had to switch the lines around at the pole and BOOM...PPP came up straight away. Apparently my other line had somebody elses DSL too. There must have been some other un-happy customer somewhere in Mt Roskill, haha!
