I have the USB Modem (21.6 enabled) device from 2degrees and it is the E3131 model (which I can see has little or no support anywhere on the web..)
I want to turn it into a wifi hotspot using a Netgear DGN2200M, MBR624GU, or MBRN3000
or similar device since I can then use it a proper router when chorus finally install rural broadband later in the year..
These types of 3G router are not very common, and I want to know if anyone has had any success in using the 2degrees USB modem E3131 with any router to turn it into a wifi hotspot.
My reason is that I live outside of a cable broadband zone, but have a number of devices in my house that I want to connect wirelessly and it is not possible to buy multiple USB modems for multiple devices.
I just want to share my broadband within my house..
does anyone have any ideas?
2degrees have come back to me with "We can’t guarantee it will work with the usb modem as it is designed to go directly into the computer. We do not support any Wi-Fi hotspot devices other than the 2degrees Wi-Fi hotspot device which we no longer stock. There are customers who do use devices like this and they work but we will not be able to guarantee a stable and or trouble free connection. "
Many thanks in advance
