Hi

Sorry for what is probably a stupid question.

I have just signed up for slingshot VDSL unlimited broadband and was wondering if I can use my normal broadband wireless router with the VDSL line or do I need to get different equipment to deal with the VDSL?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

You would need a VDSL-capable modem. You could use one that supports bridging, and bridge it to your existing router. Do slingshot not supply you anything?

Hi,

We're not offering Slingshot VDSL just yet but we will be supplying modems with it once we do. I've sent you a PM so I can have a closer look at your account.

Cheers,
Chris

Any info available on the specs of the VDSL capable modem / router?

Want List:
-DHCP
-Basic IPv6 support (DHCPv6, IPv6 forwarding, MLDv2, RIPng)
-802.11ac/n/g/b/a
-Detachable antennas.
-1x VDSL RJ45
-1x Eth RJ45 WAN
-4-8x 1 Gbps switchport module
-2x FXS ports
-SNRM tweaking
-CLI access via SSH / Telnet
-IGMPv3
-RIPv2
-Detailed DSL statistics
-Static routing entries

*Good DSL chip is a must. Ones that cannot obtain the higher buckets = drama.

Do not want list:
-In built fans.
-Over 20 watts power consumption.
-The device itself if built by DLink.  :D
