Our UFB connection has been down for at least the last 30 minutes (since 0030 24/09). Unable to load Snaps website via 2degrees 4G and no mention of an outage on their twitter account. Have reset the Fritz and powered cycled devices with no joy. No errors in the Fritz log to suggest an error at our end (or theirs for that matter).

Is anyone else awake at this ungodly hour also experiencing issues?

I was rather looking forward to unwinding with some streaming after work, but alas broadcast TV it is for me.

Down for me too, Chch VDSL2.
National sites sort of load, can still use youtube fine. Steam is somehow connected.

Can ping Aus servers fine, but USA is unreachable.

Strangely seem to be having opposite issue. Have just tried 2 of my servers in US, one on west coast and one Central and both work fine. Anything local won't load neither will Aus. Haven't tried YouTube but its next on the list as is Netflix.

hio77: seems good in auckland. suppose its localized.

http://www.snap.net.nz/support/content/20/109/en/planned-maintenance-_-tokoroa-cambridge-and-teawamutu-_-23_09.html

possibly related.

I would hope Snap aren't routing their SI traffic thru Tokoroa's UFB provider but you never know I guess :-P.

Further tests and the only sites I can access are my own, no other US sites or anywhere else on this here earth. That's what I find the oddest bit if it all (not cached versions loading either, live data). At least their own site is working again via 2degrees.

I'm sure the awesome folks at Snap will have it fixed before the morning news site rush.

Off to bed. Good night all.

yeah. i thought that was a little far away, but then i dont totally trust my south island geography!

Given the 2degress issue, i wouldnt be surprised if theres a slightly more wide spread fibre cut.
