Hey Guys,
After seeing that my connection can hardly get over 4 MB/s download from steam on the Gamer plan I'm wondering what are others speeds, sometimes I will go up to 8 MB/s but that's about as high as it gets, it averages around 4 :/
Before switching from Snap I would get a nice constant 10 MB/s download no matter what time of the day it was.

Let me know your guys results and the area you are in.

I'm in The Albany Heights area in Auckland for anyone wondering.

Thanks

Hi,

I'm on normal plan (not Game plan) and I'm in Auckland Flat Bush area.
I constantly get 10MB/s speed for all downloads, include Steam

Open a ticket with support.  Feel free to reference their current "fastest in NZ" advertising...

I did this a while ago when my ping times jumped by 20ms.  They fixed it, eventually.

I'm on the gamer plan and peaked at 12MB/s. I'm in Rotorua.

was it an actual fault or did they shuffle the routing around a bit?

I got connected today and my pings are about 30ms above slingshot. I'm on the pure plan but I should get similar pings as the routing is very similar.\

steams speeds vary between 8 and 20 meg a second.

The "fastest in NZ" advertising is a joke. Yes you will be as a whole if you only deal with UFB

Are you (the op) testing over Ethernet?

Testing over Ethernet, any time of the day it's very slow...

MyRepublic told me that it's probably my steam account issue, which is wrong because I tried downloading at work and I managed to reach 12.
Tried connecting to the ONT directly and it would still sit at around 2.5 MB/s, sometimes it would dip to 8 for a second or so.

EDIT: Found the issue, ASUS Game First III software was causing it, it put steam on the lowest possible download priority and capped it.
Uninstalled it and now I'm getting normal 12 MB/s
