Hello friends at Geekzone!

I have seen posts on here with similar issues I have had but none with a fix that I could see just happy individuals who have had their Internet issues resolved by other happy and knowledgeable individuals.

So I have had the message from orcon that my net is good to go. I got my Shiney genius modem. Plugged it in, salivating 8n anticipation of glorious Internet, and low and behold no Internet light! No Internet on my pc! The adsl light is solid blue along with the wired and wireless lights.

I have called technical support and they did what they could. Couldn't find a fix and sent the matter to teir two support. Unfortunately I can't really wait for them to play around as I work from home and require my Internet to hold down my job!

From exploring around I found the wonderful people here including some on to it guys that might be able to help me with this problem. So far I have done a factory reset along with going through checking all the settings with the support guy.

Any help would be immensely appreciated.

Cheers!

Sorry to hear you're having difficulties.  If you can flick me a PM with your orcon account number or username, i will see what I can do.

Just an update I wonder if this would have affected my problem. When I first signed up I totally missed the email to set my orcon password. I couldn't log in to My Orcon today so did a password reset. Essentially resetting a nonexistent password? Would this affect my adsl password? Perhaps why it isn't working. Along with this I cannot log into my orcon with my username...only my email as a username.

Yup, that's how the "new" backend systems at Orcon work (by "new" I assume after the callplus buyout).  We recently updated our UFB speed and this meant transitioning from "old" to "new" backends, so new account, new password, and our username is now our email address.
