Recently I have been using our vodafone Huawei HG659 for our wireless connection in our home by using the orcon modem/router as a bridge from the ONT. Is it possible to just use the vodafone modem/router. We have asked Orcon on how to do this and they have said that their network is plug and play, in otherwords, you can plug any modem/router and if it works then it works, if it doesn't then it doesn't. I have been using the vodafone modem/router because it supports 2.4 ghz and 5ghz.

This is my current setup:

Any information on how this could be possible, please let me know

Thanks

Can you explain what purpose does the NetComm serve in your setup? If it doesn't serve a purpose you should just remove it.

Plug the Huawei into the ONT. Blue port into GE1.

Set the Huawei as follows

(Not sure how to set v6 with Orcon, but the above should get you internet.)

The above post should work. If you use the NF4V for VoIP you'll either need the SIP info from Orcon (don't know if they'll give this out or not), or to set the NF4V up behind the Huawei.

Orcon use DHCPv6-PD for v6 I believe. Give out /56's? Not 100% sure. May as well enable it IMO, so you can use if if it's there, and if not, when it goes live it should just connect.
