I have just moved from UFB to the giga plan on Slingshot. The slingshot modem provided seems able to obtain 700+ but I can’t get over 200 with my Asus. Can any one tell me what settings I need to change to obtain the same speeds. Want to keep the Asus as great range and works well with number of users.

If this is the one that has the build in AV scanning etc, you need to disable that.

It's capable of preforming well however, firmware is pretty bogged down.

Also remove any port forwarding you have on the router. Mine was the same until i did this.

It's a pretty low spec device with poor firmware so you won't get close to 1Gbps unless you disable all the usual features on a router such as QoS, port forwards etc that slow it down. 3rd party firmware will provide slihghly better performance.

I bought an ASUS RT-AC68u router, for us to connect to slingshot UFB. We had the same model before on VDSL, for great parental control software. (Slingshot provided modem didn't )

Anyway, three calls to slingshot, first got it configured, then when it dropped off, second call to slingshot couldn't help, third call said they wouldn't help as it was third party router.

Called Asus. Second call got it set up, download speed 837Mb/s!

Settings

Advance Settings,

LAN, IPTV tab,

1. Select ISP profile "Manual setting"

2. Internet VID = 10, PRIO = 0

LAN Port 4 VID = 10, PRIO = 0

LAN Port 3 VID = 10, PRIO = 0

WAN - Internet Connection tab

WAN Connection type = Automatic IP

Enable WAN, NAT, UPnP = all yes

Connect to DNS server automatically = yes

Authentication = None

Hope this helps other people, I spent a lot of time searching and trying!
