Hi
I have been using WiFi calling for about 5 months. (Singapore S9+ and Singapore Note 9, worked out of the box, no 2 Degrees configuration installed) Works fine in NZ, PNG.
Recently been in hospital where it worked with hospital wifi.
Now back home to our 2 Degrees broadband and it won't connect on my S9. My wife's Note 9 connects sporadically
Hàs anyone else had this happen recently?
Both phones had a Samsung security update a couple of weeks ago which smells like a possible cause.

Thank you. I called 2 degrees, and had an 8 minute talk to support. I tried a few of the usual things that I had already tried, switching on and off. Nothing seemed to help.

Then I realised that we had had a long call that was very clear, all while my 2 degrees mobile link was showing 1 or 2 bars. So I decided that maybe wifi calling was working, but the icon was off,

After the call I Goggled the issue, and found that after a recent update the icon seems to have disappeared, but wifi calling is actually working. (there was a side debate about whether the icon was useful or not!)

So I have concluded that there is no wifi calling problem, as NickMack suggests, but just another Samsung bug.

Great stuff - the challenge with RFC / standards is they are can be open to interpretation by HW/SW Vendors, you can get some weird things happen :-)

Samsung has a service menu that's handy for checking what's going on with VoWiFi (VoLTE too.)

i honestly expect this will become more of a universal thing as it becomes the normal. It's like HD Voice on 3G. Back in the day all the phones announced it like it was special. these days, it's just the normal and you notice somethings wrong when it doesn't just work...
