Ive been connected with TelstraClear for 14 years to an SBX6 at my home business.  No troubles at all for all that time.  I have now transferred one line to Orcon to take advantage of their high speed internet.  Now I have one line with Telstra Clear - still normal reception.  The other  Orcon line is giving high speed internet but very very low volume on the telephone side - both parties have to shout.  Orcon can't seem to find the fault, despite excellent service from the helpdesk.  Anyone out there with SBX6 experience able to help?  Anyone have a full SBX6 manual they want to sell?  Help Please??Frown

Have your tried putting a normal fone on the Orcon line to see if it's the SBX6 or Orcons's circuit.  If the fone sounds OK then it maybe an impedence mismatch between the SBX trunk and the Orcon circuit. .  If the speach on the fone is also low then it's back to orcon..

Thanks for that - I did suggest to Orcon support via E-Mail this morning that they contact Telstra Clear to see if they have any notes on what they originally did.  Obviously if the line worked through Tepstra & it doesn't now, it must be something along the lines of what you suggested.  Orcon are very helpful and try hard but I think they, being new, are lacking in indepth understanding.  I'll try the phone on the line in at the street and see what happens.  Thanks so much for your interest & helpfulness.

First thing I would do is try plugging a normal phone in and testing that. If the volume is poor with that then you know it's an Orcon issue. Low volume is typically an impedence issue.
