Hey,

I'm seeing what appears (at least to me, I'm not an expert) to be strange routing to some Australian game servers. I'm seeing a latency of ~130ms where I'd normally see ~45ms. I experienced the same issue earlier this year which was resolved when I started paying for a static IP. I still have a static ip in the 123.255.x.x range.

I can potentially ask 2D to change me to a static ip in the other range to see if that resolves the issue but thought I'd make a post in case anyone has any suggestions or the ability to look into this.

I can confirm that when using my non-2degrees mobile phone connection I see a latency of ~45ms.

looks at a high level like Vocus are passing traffic back to us via the US so hence the weird Traceroute entries, i have got details via PM and have raised with the team to have a look

Yeah I've been seeing some non normal numbers on wow last 5 days ish.

Normally hit the Aussie server at 61ms have lately been seeing up to 1100 for short periods, and lots of 120-130 and have had more disconnects in last 5 days than last 6 months

Yeah I noticed this the last two nights. My PIA VPN service has gone from having pings under 140ms to most of SEA to almost over 300ms

I have the same issue connection to SEA server of World of Warships since 3 days ago. I have called 2degrees tech support. And the problem is verified from his end. And has been elevated to sort with upstream line provider.

Is 2degrees giving an ETA on the fix for this?

We are working with our upstream providers on this, unfortunately no ETA at this time.

That IP has some funky return path routing that is not within 2degress control, they are handing the traffic over at the closest point which is Sydney Peering. Return traffic is controlled by the game companies host. I'd suggest logging it with the game company as 2degrees has limited avenues to have this fixed. (speaking as a Network Architect of a different backbone provider, I can see the same path).
