I currently have a Vodafone prepay SIM and I'm considering signing up for a Slingshot mobile plan with the Data 1.0 add-on.
I'm using a Nokia E52 which shows a "3.5G" symbol when connected - I don't know how to check precisely what connection type this refers to but mobile browsing seems really quite fast.
This is quite important to me so I'm wondering if there will be any difference in connection speeds if I switch to Slingshot. I understand they use the Vodafone network but I would like to know for sure.
I asked the call centre, they told me there would in fact be a difference and that I could only expect 3G speeds, and that it really depends on what the nearest tower supports. Without any technical information it's hard to be sure what this actually means.
Can anyone advise me on what change (if any) in mobile data connection speeds I can expect with a move to Slingshot?
