I just joined the "Jump from telecom XT notwork" deal from slingshot.

Does anyone know if the billing period is a calendar month or monthly from the date of the slingshot connection becoming live ?

From when you connect. My personal billing period ended today and will do so again on the 18th of April.

You can find your billing date by logging into visibill https://www.visibill.co.nz

You could even goto Slingshot and log into your account, and on the side you can click Visibill which will tell you your billing period dates. Thanks, hope my info helps

Thanks for everyone's replies.

I'm still not clear about this however.

I only activated the first connection today but in Visibill says that billing period ends 08apr10 - thus will the first months charges be prorated and will free minutes/txts also be proportional for approx 3 weeks?

Other people I know seem to also have been allocated 8th April so seems like they have some standard billing dates like Vodafone.

Maybe 'Slingshot' could help answering this.

Your billing date is choosen based on when you activate. However we only have 6 billing dates, so the closest is picked.

Yes the first month charges will be pro-rated.

I was in the same position, and got pro-rated, should the pro-rated period be credited as well?

I got my bill the other day, and had some extra charges for the XT plans i have, but no credits.

Cheers

questions for 'Slingshot'

when are first credits applied for 'xt port deal' customers - I can see pending charges in Visibill for each connection but no pending credits showing - appears first charges will be for approx 6 weeks (part month + month in advance) -
Question 1: Am I correct in assuming first bill will include some credits
Question 2:  will they cover part month + month-in advance (and thus will be a partial credit at the end of the 12months)
OR will they just cover month-in-advance with 12 full months of plan credit being done as 12 full months.

@Slingshot I find Visibill completely confusing!! Here are some random points in no particular order:

1. When I look at the "call summary" it gives the total number of "calls" made (unfortunately this appears to include TXTs as well), but when I click to look at the details, it says "no calls found". Is this a bug?

2. It seems we are going to be overcharged on our first bill a little unnecessarily.

There is an equipment charge of $39.78 (ie. $9.94 x 4), and Mobile Plan + Add-ons charges of $81.43 (I presume this is 3 mobiles pro-rata for first part month and first full month).

However the "credit" applied is only $20 per activated mobile (ie. for 1 full month, with no additional credit to cover the pro-rata period). That leaves an "overpayment"of $21.43 which I presume will later be left as credit on the account, but why does this even need to be paid in the first place?

Hope that makes sense and hope something can be done about it.

3. I think the whole interface is really confusing and it's hard to find information.

4. Seems that our first billing period is going to be 1 week (or so) and then the first full month (after billing 27 March). For the purpose of our "12 month contract" and "12 month waived Mega Talk plan charges", does that 1st week count as "one month of waved Mega Talk plan charges"? The whole thing is confusing me big time.

Yer I can't work out mine either. I already have SS broadband which is $34.95 and ordered 2 phones with a $12 per month txt bundle. Recieved a bill for $122 after 2 weeks!!! So adding in $20 for courier (when it could have come in one bag but let's not go there) it still doesn't add up.

I rang the call centre on Tuesday, who agreed it didn't look right, and would get back to me. Still waiting....

Looks like i've also been charged the pro-rata for part of the first month? But there was no mention of that from the CSR as part of the contract. What's going on here?

Does there need to be a complaint to the advertising standards authority/etc if they're actually going to try to go ahead and charge for the first part of the month..

Can you actually see "credits" of $20 per activated mobile in Visibill - if so where - neither I nor my wife nor my father nor my brother can see any $20 credits on any of our activated mobiles.

Hopefully @Slingshot will start replying to some of these queries this week - my account is currently showing fixed charges of >$165 for the first bill and my wifes >$123 whereas we were expecting first bills of around $40 and $30 each respectively - $288 is quite different to $70.

It's best to contact the call centre, these are billing issues which is moving out of my area (Marketing).

They will definitely be able to help you.

I can say that the 12 month credit is for exactly 12 months, $20 each month. Depending on when you activate, there could be a pro-rata charge because of bill dates.

Since there are a number of people asking questions about how this should work it would be really great (since you are obviously a senior person at SS) if you could find out what should be happening and let us know as it is quite likely that different people ringing the call centre will be told different stories - I did post recently about how I had personally had an excellent experience with the call centre but found that after that post my experiences were significantly worse - as were those of my father and brother who had shocking inefficiency in terms of their signup experiences.

Surely there should be a standard way in which this situation should be handled.

I am quite happy to wait for my first invoice as long as I know that some credits will be applied - when none of us can see these on Visibill (but can see fixed charges) I am somewhat concerned however that the credits may not be correctly loaded - especially when one other person suggests that they can see $20 credits.

So @Slingshot can you (1) say whether credits should be visible in Visibill with fixed charges before 1st invoice and (2) clarify for multiple posters how credits will be handled?

Unforunately forum support is non standard (I do what I can, when I can), and when you dive into billing it becomes a long process without actually speaking with someone.

I'll try answer your questions, but after that I'm going to leave it sorry.

1. No the credit won't show before as it's generated when you bill.

2. there will be 12 x $20 mobile acccess credits.
