OK so like the title says i have a few quick questions I hope someone here can answer for me about slingshot.

1) may address is somewhere in 70-80 Carlisle rd, browns bay. What kind of speeds do you think I would be able to achieve here if I switched  over to the nDSL plan?

 2) It says on the website that I need a active phone line to switch over. I am currently on nDSL with maxnet. Would this be enough or do I still need to sign up with telecom first?

There was a few more questions I had but I cannot remember what they are so I will add them later.

thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Looking at the location here: http://www.telecomwholesale.co.nz/maps

Can't say what your speeds might be without knowing where in that area the cabinet is. But I would expect >10Mb.

FWIW I sync at 16Mb/s with my cabinet and seem to be able to download at 1.4MB/s 24/7

I went on their website and found this wording under need to know

Active Homeline Required

For Slingshot to install just broadband, you need to have active services at your place. This is a homeline or broadband or both! Please note that once just broadband is connected, these services will be disconnected.

To me the way that is worded it doesnt matter whether you have a homeline or broadband you should be able to switch ndsl providers as the way I see it is ndsl is an active service. Hope this helps

That's right.
We should be able to connect you with no probs – we would just need an accurate ASID number (which you may need to get from Maxnet). Hope this helps - let me know if you have any questions.

Cheers
