Sometimes I find anything Google (google search, gmail, google bookmarks) will stop connecting, but then after a few mins it will be back to normal.  I find that the connection problem happens more often than not.

A common example is when I search for from something in google, the results appear as normal.  If I then click on the "Images" button to show the Google image search, the results will show, but without the images being shown.  Only the display boxholders will show.  I'll try to refresh and get the following error message from Google Chrome.

Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to www.google.co.nz

This problem happens in both Chrome and Firefox.  It doesn't appear to effect any other sites, as while the problem occurs, I can browse other sites fine.  I'm on Orcon Gold+.  Any suggestions?

Are you using the Orcon DNS or something else?

I think Orcons?  I say this because when I go into my router settings, under DNS, it has "Automatic from ISP" ticked.  Is that the one?

I am not on Orcon but am using Google Chrome 99% of the time and haven't had any issues as described above.

Are you using a lynk sys modem with its fire wall enabled?

Have see one case like this before and disabling the firewall fixes the issue.

I'm using a 3Com router, unsure if there's a firewall with it or not
