Well, it's been an interesting battle with steam.

Speeds are awesome, i get 1.8M/s, on peak. However, off peak they are around 100-200k/s.
Now, this is weird, considering they host content. So I decide to check the server load through the valve site, and it seems to be around 30%. The speed is very consistent from day to day.

So I pick a random unpopular video off youtube and I seem to get around 1.3M/s, then I change the steam content servers, and select the Auzie ones, suddenly my speed jumps to around ~1M/s, even higher off the USA ones. Has anyone else had similar experiences, as it's just a bid ridiculous, it costs them more, and it's inconvenient for me.

So my question, should I bother calling them to sort this out, or should I just accept the fact that I will be told that traffic is not restricted by them at all, and it's all due to server load?

Note that the slingshot content server does not contain all steam content available.

I was considering that could've been the problem, hence I tested it with the likes of CS-source, L4D2.
