Hi all
I'm considering getting Orcon Genius in a home that has a structured cabling system.
Some background information:
The structured system means that all my jackpoints terminate in my data cabinet. Currently the POTS line terminates in my cabinet, is adsl filtered, then is patched into my 8 way phone splitter. The 8 way is patched through to 4 or so phone basestations throughout the house. The phones are all mains powered cordless.
As far as I can tell I should just be able to patch the phone jack on the Genius to my phone splitter and still have all the phones currently in the house continue to function as before but through the genius' VoIP instead. I am aware that POTS phones draw some current.
The information I am looking for is:
Will this work as I anticipate?
And if so how many phones can the Orcon Genius handle connected to it (via an appropriate splitter)?
Cheers
