can i connect a dvd hard drive recorder to aerialBox T1020 and if so how,i have connect external hard drive but was curious to know if i can connect recorder,

Yes, you should be able to - but you will only be able to record in standard definition.

Connect the decoder to the recorder using composite video cables - the ones with three RCA plugs (yellow, red and white) at each end.

and sadly that's only an analogue dub - which is why it is SD.

That will only give you SD picture on the TV.
I'd connect the T1020 to the TV via HDMI for HD picture.
Connect the T1020 to the recorder via composite A/V.
Connect the recorder to the TV via HDMI for upscaled SD (assuming your recorder will upscale and your TV has multiple HDMI inputs).
