My friend Has moved to Ruakaka in Whangarei district,

He has a built in freeview which we know doesnt work in the area so purchased a freeview box off trade me brand new.

Plugged it in to the wall, Satulite connection point and searched channels and only recieve channels one,two,Maori - searched over the internet and tryed heaps of the setting and still only those, brought a second zinwell box 2nd hand repeated the same but get no channels.

The house has a another freeview box connected and working perfectly (installed same time as the dish and the other ariel point)

we cant think of any other simple explanation

1 - ruled out dish as it works in other room
2 - get 1, 2 and maori working so guessing its not the jack point

Just want something to work :) any suggestions??

Try the box that is working at the other antenna outlets.
Try the boxes that aren't working fully on the outlet where the box is working.
Check the tuning in the box that is working to find the frequencies.
What brand and model are the boxes?

That was My next thing to do my friend and his family are a bit non technology minded :P so when im up there next week may be the way to go

the 2 purchased boxs
DIGITVIEW freeview satellite receiver DVB-S86
Zinwell ZMT-620HD

Just sent off a text to find out the current working boxs brand incase that makes a difference

Zinwell is terrestrial so you wouldn't expect to get anything.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

Zinwell ZMT-620HD

The Zinwell 620HD won't work anyway because it's a Freeview HD UHF box and not a satellite box. I've had two (one was a Dick Smith branded one) of them but they both died after 2 years as seems common with the Zinwell UHF.
I don't know the other one.

You grasped the concept that the TV wouldn't work with its DVB-T tuner so you have me slightly confused.
