So I just bought a Vesta 8300 PVR Freeview Decoder from a trading site and it is password protected. it is without a remote so I am wondering if I can some how reset it or something. The last owner assured me it worked with her TV so can't understand why it won't with mine. I have know idea of the brand (other than it is a Vesta..) or what website or company to contact. It also didn't come with a manual.
would be great to get some help :) thanks.

You could try the obvious ones like 0000, 8300, 0038 but it sounds like you bought a lemon. Without a remote you can't do much. How did the previous owner use it without a remote? I'd ask for a refund or bin it and buy something that works.

You'll find most Freeview boxes are pretty much useless without a remote. I'd ask for the remote to be sent or, failing that, get a refund.

Looks like it's made by vestax? Try their website but as others said, you need a remote !
