Hi there

I have just brought a tv with freeview built in, and also moved house which doesnt have a uhf aerial. However we do have a satellite dish (unsure if it is working or not). I brought a satellite freeview receiver box however I have no idea how to set it up.

i followed the instructions on the freeview website but i still can't get it working. Talking to some people, they said it probably needs to be re-tuned as it can work without a stallite dish?

This has confused me.

Can someone help me??

The short answer is, connect the decoder the same as you would a DVD player, and you should see something from it on the telly, menu, no signal, or something like that.

Once you can see the output from it, you can go about trying to tune channels with it.

Well if it's a Satellite box it certainly won't work without a dish antenna.
Freeview STBs usually come pretuned so the usual problem if you get no signal is the LNB on the dish will be on a differnt frequency and you need to change the LNB frequency in the setup menu.
Rather than follow the instructions on the Freeview site you should follow the instructions that came with the STB.
What Brand and model is the STB and how have you connected it all?
If however you are in a Freeview UHF area you'd be far better off taking it back and getting a UHF antenna instead. Freeview UHF is HD and Satellite is only SD. The difference in picture quality is very noticeable.

P.S. Just to clarify, I presume you mean "bought" as in purchased rather than "brought" as in took with you?
