Can anyone tell me if I can get a replacement part for this Kingray antenna? Its off a UHF/VHF antenna. The reception picture is fuzzy but sound OK and I can only tune TV into a few channels.
The is also a diplexer model DPOUV in a w/proof box on the masthead. However I'm not sure which of the two is the culprit for my bad reception. The corrosion on this part suggest it may be faulty. What do your think?

I think get rid of your VHF aerial and the diplexer (unnecessary now) and run a new cable from your TV or STB to the existing UHF aerial so you can be sure of of a good quality single run with clean connections. Are you in an area that receives good strength UHF signal?

Yes I was going to get rid of VHF. But just wanted to know if this balun could be obtained as a spare part? Good UHF reception here in Balmoral, Auckland

Trying to get a spare part (unlikely to be possible) will likely cost you more than a new antenna.
Just get a new antenna and coax cable.

Yes you can , but it is just as easy to buy a new antenna. The grids are probably shot as well.

The balun etc is probably actually ok despite it looking a little grubby. The signal loss is probably coming via the diplexor especially if its the old non F type. Remove the diplexor and run a single cable. Put the Balun element back on , hopefully you have some spare length of cable inside the roof that you can just pull up to connect directly to the balun.

That would be the cheap option.. failing that new cable to new antenna time..

Ended up running some fresh coax back and replacing the aerial which was quite old anyway. Good signal/reception.
