Hi Everyone.

This is my first post so please forgive me if not in the right topic . Spent weeks to find my answer and no luck. Thought try here.

All I want is to receive optus d2 's channels both in H and V with the simpliest / cheapest option.
I live in CHCH so I have freeview already.
I have a 110cm dish and willing to use it if its possible.
Heard about dual polarity Lnbs with 2 output H and V . But how would I connect both to my TV (LG43uf770) ?
Do I have to buy a satellite receiver ? Switch?

2, is it worth to spend money on extra lnbs , like triple set up to get more decent channels , or a motor that would move the dish?

You need a satellite set top box of some kind, TVs often have integrated dvb-t but not dvb-s so much. IIRC a big enough dish can have two LNBs pointing at two satellites - no need for a motor.

Yes, DVB-S receiver required (unless dual-tuner type TV)
And dual-throat holder for _2_ lnbs

You'll also likely need to run 2 cables and a diseqc splitter to switch between.

The tv is hybrid.
So 2 lnb and a switch.

LG 43UF770V is the model with a built in UHF & Sat Tunner?. If so you the 1st need to find out whether the Sat tunner will pick up non Freeview Sat channels. Go into the Satellite setup & try to manually add a non Freeview transponder/freq( http://www.lyngsat.com/Optus-D1.html and try 1 of the Sky freq) . If you are able to add this & get a signal then you won't need a Sat box.

As far as your dish is concerned a dual or triple LNB bracket setup would be better. D2 has a strong signal over NZ & only in heavy rain will the signal drop. I currently have a 90cm with D1/D2/IS19 working just find. IS19 does drop out during rain but D2 is rock solid.

Hi Everyone !
After a few weeks up and down on the ladder finally got what i needed. So decided to share with you my experiences and mistakes.

My tv is a LG UHD 4K with hybrid dual tuner. DVB-T and DVB-S/S2
Bought a second hand 1100mm dia dish. And all i wanted at that point to get Optus D2.

1, tried to line up the dish by phone apps... was not successful at all, but i find the dishpointer helpful due the line sight of the dish. Aimed the dish to the neighbours house corner. Thats about it for rough start.
2, bought a cheap satellite finder $20 and tuned the dish properly. First side ways, than up and down. And then the lnb skew.
3, understanding how to change my tv setting to satellite, and not to FTA was the issue and than knowing what numbers going where was the other issue, also SR numbers etc.
4, bought new dual polarity Lnb that was not working well. H signal was perfect while V week as . Could not find the right balance week after week. replaced back to the old lnb and viola worked like a charm.
5, Got excited and set up old sky dish to intelsat 19 / 166E to get those few channels that can be received in english. Esp France 24.

If anyone need step by step for LG Hybrid tv setup just let me know.

If V/H isn't going well with a dual throat LNB, it needs tweaking on the diagonal :) H good V bad means tilt up, V g H bad down :P
