I have a VEON 50" TV that I want to power on, as soon as the power is turned on at the wall.

I thought maybe this feature (if it indeed exists) could be enabled by entering "Service Mode". Thing is I don't know the remote sequence to put it in to service mode. Any ideas?

So after a lot of searching I got lucky. A YouTube video showed a menu very similar to the Veon and the guy entered 1147 to enter the service menu. I tried it and it worked!

To enter the service menu, first press the Menu key on the remote. From there just press 1147 and the service menu will show. To set the TV to power on when power is applied, go General > Power On and set to On. Other options are Off or Last (to go to the last power state when power was lost).

I can understand that.

I turn on one wall switch and the TV, DVD, freeview box and sound system all spring to life.

At the end of the viewing session they all go off at once.

No HTPC to worry about

Did you catch the brand of the similar looking TV? That might help with finding what to put in the remote control app to get the right IR codes.

I know this is an old(ish) thread but just for documentation, the current Service Menu is accessed via Source Key 2 5 8 0.
