Does anyone know of a fairly simple Freeview UHF terrestrial box that outputs its High Definition signal

over the Component connection? Would have to be non-Freeview certified. Either new or older model would

be fine. Many thanks in advance!

Our old Dish-TV Terrestrial? (spelling) box outputs over 1080 over component video. Model is Dish TV T1020.

Have a spare somewhere.

Love the component output, no restrictions and a 100 metre range is possible, not that will ever use it.

Darren - thanks for this info. There was a Visione box on TradeMe that could do this but it looked rather cheap. I then discovered that my existing Hard Drive recorder would not record the signal in HD anyway so have now invested in a Panasonic HWT260GN.

the old non-approved dracos could do hd over component but poor reliability has probably killed them all off.

As a thought, depending on your budget and how much you care about HD over component, there is one other option. Namely, get a normal decoder that does HD over HDMI, and then buy an HDFury which will convert this to component (still in HD).

As I'm guessing that you want to connect stuff to an older HD capable TV, the Fury has the advantage that you can also connect other HD sources to your TV if you want as well (DVD recorder, MySky, Bluray etc) without having to use SD connections. Adding an HDMI switch as well can make this quite painless.

From memory mine (HDFury2) was about $US 130.

The $14 adapters off aliexpress dont seem to HDCP, but the metal $28 one does it fine for a friend that had component cables thru their walls to a projector.
