Wanting to know which external dvb-t + analog TVTuner for a laptop do you recommend? I am looking at the Hauppauge HVR-900. I hear the software is a bit dated though. I am running windows vista. Can anyone recommend something better (up to about $250)

I am usinga HVR-900 on my Media Center. I don't really care about their software because it does not support the DVB-T HD standard used in New Zealand - for that you need dvbviewer and a proper H.264 decoder.

It works well, and I had no problem finding the channels with dvb-viewer.

I am about to receive some Compro devices to test too - no idea of quality yet.

Well, unlike the author, I'm not going to use it on a laptop myself.. just looking for portablility between various desktop PCs (all high spec dual core). Was just after some good USB DVB-t hardware with BDA drivers for use with Media Portal.

EDIT: And Vista driver support.. which the AVerMedia AVerTV DVB-T Volar doesn't appear to have.
