I had to do a factory reset on my Freeview and now when I press the EpG button the guide is shown in horizontal lines by channel and I cannot record or series record and I can't even exit that screen
When I first installed Freeview I had this issue and phoned the Freeview help and I had to change a setting because the defaults were wrong. Problem is I can't remember what I had to change and it is after hours so have to take time off work to phone support during work hours. Annoying.
I need to change some setting so the Guide is by one channel at a time and listed vertically by program, just like it is shown on page 19 of the paper guide.

All ok. I have recalled the option and changed the Default Guide in Admin from Freeview Plus to MHEG so no help needed now
