Hi Guys,

I have an HVR-2200 on my computer that I use to watch TV. Now I have every channel except for Prime. I realize Prime isn't on Freeview yet, but surely I can get it on one fo the Analogue Tuners. However, wehn icscanned analogue channels in Mediaportal, it came upw ith nothing. Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Matthew

I have an HVR2200 getting all the freeview channels and an analogue card in the same machine which is tuned to Prime only so it can be done. Are you using a splitter for the aerial? If you are, take it off and run the main aerial cable with no splitter to the analogue card and try rescanning for prime. If you get Prime doing that then try putting the splitter back in. If the signal drops out with the splitter you need one with power pass through. Plenty of electronics stores have these.

Another option is to input the channel frequency manually and see if that brings anything up. Depending on your software you use to watch TV this can vary on how to be done. www.lincrad.co.nz has all the channel frequencies for the country.

The question was how can OP use their HVR2200 to get prime. not the use of another card.

Yes, it can be done. But there are specific requirements when using the HVR-2200 card. This card's analogue tuners are not recognised unless you have one of the later SVN builds installed with Mediaportal RC1.

The analogue tuner channel numbers are:

TV1=7
TV2=63
TV3=76
C4=85
yah
dah
yah
Prime=316
ALTTV=325

Your HVR2200 is a hybrid tuner

If using the Digital tuner you get (in high definition):
One, TV2, TV3, C4, TVNZ6, TVNZ7, Parliment, Sports Exta etc

If using the Analogue tuner you get (in crappy normal definition):
One, TV2, TV3, C4, Prime

Can only use the digital OR the analogue tuner, not both at the same time

Yes, i realize this, but I've scanned Analogue Channels with media portal and found nothing. This is the issue I'm having

Don't know if you have this sorted or not.

I had a similar issue a while back. Couldn't get any of my analogue tuners to grab channel frequencies. Tried everything: reinstalling MP (a number of times).

The only resolution I could find was to reinstall an earlier Ghost drive image & reinstall MP & the other apps. It worked. Another good reason to image your partitions. Hope you have found an easier workaround.

Does analogue work in WinTV?

I have some trouble with analogue and MP as well. Although I can get it to tune, the audio and video are way out of sync. I'm guessing it's not picking the right set of codecs or something. The WinTV version that came with my HVR900 shows the channel fine.
