DVB-T channels are found when scanning, but just show a black screen when viewing in Wintv and GBPVR.

it looks like I may need to install the PowerDVD codec?? How/where do I find it? Do I need to tell the apps to use it or will they pick it up automatically? Or am I barking up the wrong tree?

I also have PowerCinema 5 included with the usb stick which CAN view the DVB-t channels no probs, but the scheduling only shows whats on in the next hour and recorded tv doesn't allow rewind and can only forward 2x speed. GBPVR looks heaps better.

Current system Dell INspiron 530s 2.0 ghz, XP, 2gb RAM, INtel integrated GMA 3100, 250 gb, HAuppauge HVR 900H

Sounds like lack of a video decoder.

The powerdvd codec is part of powerdvd 8. I.e. its pay software.

There is also the coreavc codec, and there was another one mentioned today by sbiddle.

Does WinTV playback H.264 codecs? GBPVR will, anyway.

Get the trial version of PowerDVD off the official website or Google for it. With the trial version you will need to manually register the H.264 codec. The CoreAVC codec still doesn't support hardware acceleration, yet, I think. It is supposed to be coming.

No it doesn't. Powercinema does, but unless you have the newer cards, you don't get this. Don't even know if it works with the 900.

does the fact that powercinema works mean anything? Wouldn't it mean that I have codecs installed?

If so is there something I need to do in GBPVR to tell it which codec to use?
