Hallo everybody!

I just came to Auckland and brought my laptop ACER 5920G with me.
It was bought in Europe, so this may be the cause of it, but I wanted to ask if somebody knows if there is a chance for my laptop to get any signal trough dvb-t in Auckland (I am just using the antenne provided from Acer)? Or do I need to buy different hardware to watch tv?
If there is somebody who can help me, would be very nice.
I used many times in different countries trought Europe and it was working, that's why I do not understand why not here!

It should work as Europe also uses DVB-T. Perhaps you can give more details on what software you are running, and what are the errors/symptons you are seeing?

It's more than likely simply a software issue. New Zealand uses a different video and audio format for DVB-T compared to most of Europe.

GB-PVR, Media Portal or DVBViewer are your 3 best options. You will also need a H.264 codec such as Cyberlink PowerDVD8 which will take advantage of H.264 hardware acceleration in your video card.

Hallo everybody,

first of all thank you very much for the reply!
Second: I think I am too stupid to make it run...
My laptop:
Acer Aspire 5920G
Intel Core 2 Duo T7700 (2.4GHz, 800 MHZ FSB, 4 MB L2 cache)
NVidia GeForce 8600M GT TurboCache
2GB DDR2
TV card AVerMedia A310 (MiniCard, DVB-T)
Acer Arcade Deluxe (was very confortable because one botton start) TV JOY

I tryed to install GB-PVR, Media Portal and DVBViewer, but somehow I don`t recive any picture or sound....
Under Tv joy signal strenght 5/5 and signal quality 0/5
Untill.... I read somewhere to try to install Power DVD 8!
Now I have signal strenght 5/5 and signal quality 5/5, I can get the names of some channels (15) but still no video, no audio!
I am coming close, but not close enought!
I will continue to try, maybe I will find a way or I have to wait till somebody can help me!
