Hi guys just want some options

I'm looking for a usb testral tuner that has good signal analyzing software. I think I am having signal issues and need some thing portable that I can plug into my laptop and then at various places to see where I am getting signal/quality loss.

Any suggestions from people who have used hardware/software to do this would be great also

Price is an issue so under 100 dollars would be nice.

Hi

Any usb dvb-t tuner that has broadcast access drivers (BDA Drivers) will do. They go for about $50 on trademe.

The program scanchannelsbda works great.
It shows up in a CLI and just type 5 then enter to scan all channels and it shows all the mux's with the strength and quality.
Or type 6 then enter
then the frequency then enter eg for waitura 538000 (TVNZ) , 570000 (MediaWorks), 666000 (Kordia)
then type 8000 for channel spacing and this will show the strength and quality of the mux with is more useful when checking your antenna.

I would recommend you follow the suggestion and do a search on trademe...

My take on Phin's post was "How would you know the cards you look at on TradeMe have the bda drivers?" not "How do you know this" questioning sonicpro's knowledge.

EDIT: This one is the only one a search for "bda" turns up currently but it isn't USB . . .

I think just about any tuner that works with dvbviewer should do as it uses bda.

Yes my question was how do I know if they accept bda drivers, rather than questioning anyone’s expertise. Sorry if I confused

people. But the question still stands, How do you tell if they accept bda drivers, or do the all do.

To find out you can ask the person if they do, sometimes its on the packaging.
Otherwise try get the model number of it and search the net to find out if it works with dvbviewer , mediaportal or gbpvr.

Most of the cheap no name usb tuners use the intel 9500 chipset which has bda drivers.
