Hello,
I am a new forum user and I am looking for assistance in finding the following information
I want to find out what files are created when a program is recorded on the DVB TB01.
I am particularly interested in the file extensions of the recorded files as I want to compare them with the files created with a Strong SRT 5440
Hope some out there can help me
Regards Dazza40

Two files are created, DATA.idx and DATA00.trp I think you get multiple files for longer recordings. MediaInfo (http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en) states that the file is MPEG-TS (No PAT/PMT): 381 MiB, 14mn 56s720*576 (16/9), at 25.000 fps, AVC (Component) (Main@L3.0) (CABAC / 4 Ref Frames)MPEG Audio

If you find a way to play/convert these files, please let me know. I have been able to use TsRemux to convert the video to a TS file and play it but the audio is a problem. Have tried a dozen different players with no luck. Suspect the TSRemux is not converting the audio correctly.

The Srong SRT5440 creates 3 files *.trp *.ifo & *.idx The .trp is in fact an mpeg2 transport stream file. The .ifo file is an info file that accesses the data in the .trp file. I don't know what part the .idx (index?) file plays.
Are you sure that the DVB TB01 does not create an info file?. I am trying to play the strong files on my external hard disk through a JCMatthews MP1000 media player and it tries to access the .ifo file and gives error message "invalid file format".  I thought that if the file extension was changed to the same extension as the files from the DVB TB01 the MP1000 might read it.
In answer to your question I can give tou some assistance.
I have a program called Womble MPEG-VCR (got it off internet several years ago).  It can open and play the *.trp file. It has a file convert application in it which I could not get to work successfully. However, I was able to save the file as an mpeg2 PS (program stream) file, which played ok in a number of other applications (including the MP1000). Didn't like the HD files.
I downloaded a number of other programs and tried them and one converted the HD files ok.
I think it was 4Media HD Video Converter (an evaluation copy) It might be worth a try
