So after much (well, a bit of) deliberation, I finally decided on this Topfield model for a satellite receiver
This ticked my modest boxes of just wanting an SD satellite receiver. The fact that this is also a reputable manufacturer, and had PVR capability (via external HDD) seemed good. Add in Scart sockets (I have a UK TV as I moved here in September), optical audio, and a great price - I took a punt and purchased it, even though I could find hardly ANY info on it on the web. This is from the Topfield international site:

So far (only got it today) it's all good. We had a satellite dish set-up from the previous tenants who were SKY subscribers. I just plugged it in and that was pretty much it. All the channel data was loaded up by Supreme Antennas who I bought it from, including the likes of SBS 1 to 4 - all the free D1 channels as far as I can see.
Sound (via RGB scart) and picture (currently phono) are great. The EPG is a little clunky, but OK to use.
The PVR interface is barely one, and that will take some getting used to. But it'll do the job.
All in all, I'm one happy customer indeed.
BUt I'd just like to know if anyone else has any feedback/observations on this Topfield model, given it's scant presence on the web?
